The Decatur Field Office; called USDA Service Center includes the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), who works in partnership with the Macon County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) in promoting, protecting, maintaining and improving soil, water and natural resources within Macon County.

NRCS administers the USDA Farm Bill programs in conservation compliance and assistance to land managers, units of government, organized groups and other clients. We use a network of technical specialists including engineers, biologists, soil scientists, water quality specialists, community planners and soil conservationists in providing this assistance. We also provide the following:

  • Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
